Rotary Club of Rochester is an organization of local business and professional leaders dedicated to humanitarian service in everyday life, high ethical standards in business and professions, and promoting understanding and goodwill through community programs. With 33,000 clubs and 1.2 million members throughout the world, Rotary has an extensive network of volunteers working locally, regionally, and internationally under the motto "Service Above Self."
 
The Rotary Club of Rochester was chartered in 1960 with the mission, “to fulfill the Object of Rotary. We are a nonprofit organization comprised of business and professional leaders who adhere to high ethical standards, build community goodwill, develop relationships through networking, encourage fellowship and mutual respect, and above all else provide humanitarian service to groups in need at home and aboard”.
 
In November 2005, the Rotary Club  of Rochester filed it Articles of Agreement with the New Hampshire Secretary of State to collect and distribute funds for charitable purposes and for educational and vocational scholarships. The Rochester Rotary Charities mission is, “to support local nonprofit organizations, scholarships, youth groups, and senior groups.”
