Elaine Pollard Memorial Scholarship

Elaine Marie Pollard passed away gently on November 28, 2012, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She spent her last days surrounded by family and friends, with the daily support of Rochester VNA Hospice and the Jimmy Fund Clinic/Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Her parents, Leslie and Karen Pollard, sister Alicia Otis and brother James Pollard, will miss her energy and fighting spirit every single day. There is no way to thank each and every person or organization who contributed to Elaine's joy over the past five years, but the family extends sincere appreciation and gratitude for all the generous gifts received.

Elaine planned to attend college for fashion or photography, and one of her proudest achievements was walking across the graduation stage for the Bud Carlson Academy in 2010. Her remission didn't last, but she didn't stop wishing for a college adventure one day. With that desire in mind, a scholarship fund for graduates of the Bud Carlson Academy to continue their education has been established in Elaine's memory in partnership with the Rochester Rotary Charities.

Bud Carlson students interested in applying for the scholarship should obtain a scholarship application from the Guidance Office or download it here.  The deadline for 2015 is May 1st and the completed application should be returned via mail to:

 Alicia Otis

175 Eastern Avenue #301

Manchester, NH 03104

For those interested in donation to the Elaine Pollard Memorial Scholarship fund, checks should be made payable to Rochester Rotary Charities and mailed to P.O. Box 779, Rochester, NH  03866
